US judge delays Trump’s federal 2020 election subversion trial

Postponement comes after ex-president appeals case, arguing that he is immune to prosecution for actions taken while in office

A US judge on Friday formally postponed Donald Trump’s trial on federal charges that the former president sought to overturn the 2020 election results.

The trial was due to start on 4 March in Washington DC before the delay ordered from the federal judge Tayna Chutkan.
