RFK Jr plans 10,000 job cuts in restructuring of US health department

Health secretary to close regional offices and establish a new division called ‘administration for a healthy America’

US health secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr said on Thursday he will significantly cut the size of the department he leads, reducing about 10,000 full-time jobs and closing regional offices.

The restructuring, along with previous voluntary departures, will result in a total downsizing to 62,000 full-time employees from 82,000.
