Anthony Boyd, 54, is scheduled to go to death chamber on Thursday evening for 1995 murder he denies
The US supreme court has allowed Alabama to go ahead with its seventh execution using the contested method of nitrogen gas, a form of suffocation which defense lawyers have described as cruel and unusual punishment.
Anthony Boyd, 54, is scheduled to go to the death chamber at Holman prison on Thursday evening. Barring a last-minute intervention, he will be strapped to a gurney and forced to breathe nitrogen through an industrial mask, fatally depriving his body of oxygen.
