Airline CEOs Call on Congress to Fund TSA Amid Travel Chaos

From Florida to Illinois and Georgia to Texas, TSA staffing shortages worsened by the partial government shutdown are contributing to extremely long waits at airports. In a letter to lawmakers, the CEOs of the nation’s major airlines call the $0 paycheck that officers received on Friday, “simply unacceptable.” Since the shutdown started, hundreds of TSA workers have quit as “call out” rates have also increased significantly.
