As a law student, I know the struggle for Palestinian liberation will not be won in the halls of the United Nations or courts of The Hague<\/p>\n
It has been more than a year of the ongoing onslaught in Gaza, where experts<\/a> and common people across the world<\/a> recognize that a genocide is taking place. We have seen the decimation<\/a> of Gaza\u2019s hospitals, the use of starvation<\/a> and disease as weapons of war, attacks on aid workers<\/a> and the prevention<\/a> of humanitarian aid, the invasion of Lebanon<\/a>, Syria<\/a> and West Bank cities, the arbitrary detention <\/a>of 9,000<\/a> Palestinians, the use of white phosphorus<\/a>, and the series of countless bombs<\/a>, bombs and more bombs \u2013 all individually war crimes<\/a>, and collectively, affronts to the very idea of international law and jurisprudence.<\/p>\n Like millions around the world, I watched Sha\u2019ban al-Dalou, a 19-year-old student, burn alive<\/a> as he slept in a tent outside the al-Aqsa Martyrs\u2019 hospital in central Gaza. I\u2019ve seen my people unable to do anything as flames swallowed yet another martyr, another hospital, another set of refugees in tents.
