Bush arrived alongside their spouses, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former first lady Laura Bush.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Obama\u2019s absence from the inauguration came as no surprise, since the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/michelle-obama-skip-trump-inauguration-11-days-after-missing-carter-funeral\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Obamas released a statement<\/a> last week announcing that while the former president would be in attendance, the former first lady would not be in attendance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/obama-wishes-wife-michelle-happy-birthday-she-stays-away-from-key-public-events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>OBAMA WISHES WIFE MICHELLE HAPPY BIRTHDAY AS SHE STAYS AWAY FROM KEY PUBLIC EVENTS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Obamas&#8217; statement did not provide a reason as to why the former first lady was skipping the event.
