As Donald Trump<\/a> seeks to block transgender youth healthcare<\/a> across the country, California<\/a>\u2019s attorney general has sent a clear message to providers, reminding them of their duty to provide gender-affirming treatment under the state\u2019s nondiscrimination laws.<\/p>\n \u201cThe law requires [hospitals] to continue to provide gender-affirming care to our transgender community,\u201d Rob Bonta, a Democrat who heads the California justice department, told the Guardian on Wednesday. \u201cWe will have the transgender community\u2019s back.
