President Donald Trump said during a meeting with the Irish prime minister in the Oval Office on Wednesday that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer,<\/a> D-N.Y., “has become a Palestinian.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Schumer is a Palestinian as far as I’m concerned. You know, he’s become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He’s not Jewish anymore. He’s a Palestinian,” Trump said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Schumer is the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in American history. Trump made the remark after a reporter asked him about lowering taxes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We are planning to lower taxes. Yeah. If the Democrats behave,” Trump said, before condemning outbursts and other disruptive behavior from Democrats during his first address to Congress last week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trump particularly took issue with Democrats’ behavior when he recognized the mothers of two women murdered by illegal immigrants, as well as when Trump celebrated a boy with cancer<\/a> becoming an honorary Secret Service agent.\u00a0<\/p>\n
