The US Department of Justice has threatened to sue the state of Texas if it implements a law that would allow state police to arrest any person deemed suspicious of crossing the border illegally.<\/p>\n
The law, called Senate bill 4, is scheduled to go into effect on 5 March. One of the strictest immigration laws ever passed in American history, SB4 seeks to \u201cprohibit \u2018sanctuary city\u2019 policies, that prohibit local law enforcement from inquiring about a person\u2019s immigration status and complying with detainer requests\u201d.<\/p>\n
