Prosecutors are seeking more than seven years in prison for disgraced former congressman George Santos after he pleaded guilty to federal fraud and identity theft charges.<\/p>\n
The US attorney for the eastern district of New York argued in a court filing on Friday that a significant sentence was warranted because the New York Republican\u2019s \u201cunparalleled crimes\u201d had \u201cmade a mockery\u201d of the country\u2019s election system.<\/p>\n
