The head of the US military<\/a><\/strong> base in Greenland<\/strong>, a Danish<\/strong> territory coveted by Donald Trump<\/strong>, has been fired for criticising Washington<\/strong>\u2019s agenda for the island.<\/p>\n Col Susannah Meyers<\/strong>, who had served as commander of the Pituffik space base<\/a><\/strong> since July, was removed amid reports she had distanced herself and the base from JD Vance<\/strong>\u2019s criticism of Denmark<\/a> and its oversight of the territory during the US vice-president\u2019s visit to the base two weeks ago.<\/p>\n Commanders are expected to adhere to the highest standards of conduct, especially as it relates to remaining nonpartisan in the performance of their duties.\u201d<\/p>\n Our message to Denmark is very simple: you have not done a good job by the people of Greenland.
