Donald Trump said during a White House news conference that high tariffs on goods from China will \u201ccome down substantially, but it won\u2019t be zero\u201d.<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s remarks were in response to earlier comments on Tuesday by treasury secretary Scott Bessent, who said that the high tariffs were unsustainable and that he expects a \u201cde-escalation\u201d in the trade war between the world\u2019s two largest economies.<\/p>\n
