Zevin\u2019s absorbing novel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2022\/aug\/05\/tomorrow-and-tomorrow-and-tomorrow-review-love-virtually\">Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow<\/a> examines how video games can ease suffering, challenge assumptions and\u00a0forge human connections through alternate realities, eschewing the common misconceptions of them as childish or violent.<\/p>\n<p>Gaming allows players to immerse themselves in experiences that they have not had or would not have otherwise. While those virtual experiences have their limits in conveying the reality that they are simulating, gaming \u2013 being more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theringer.com\/video-games\/2023\/1\/26\/23572057\/online-multiplayer-gaming-video-game-culture-single-player\">social<\/a> than ever before \u2013 has developed a more participatory, even empathic culture, as Zevin understands.
