Germany\u2019s foreign ministry has pushed back after Marco Rubio criticised the country\u2019s decision to designate the far-right Alternative f\u00fcr Deutschland<\/a> (AfD) party a \u201cconfirmed rightwing extremist\u201d force incompatible with its constitution.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is democracy,\u201d the ministry said in a post on X, adding that the courts would have the final say and that \u201cwe have learnt from our history that rightwing extremism needs to be stopped\u201d.
