Kansas City shooting \u2013 latest updates<\/a>Full report: one dead and 22 injured at Super Bowl parade<\/a><\/p>\n A mass shooting occurred at Wednesday\u2019s Super Bowl victory parade<\/strong> for the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> football team, with gunshots erupting and multiple people struck, according to authorities.<\/p>\n The shooting occurred at the end of the parade, which was expected to be attended by more than a million people, and sent terrified fans fleeing<\/strong> as police raced to find the perpetrators.<\/p>\n Authorities have confirmed at least one person was killed<\/strong> and 22 injured<\/strong>. At least eight children<\/strong> were among those shot and eight people had immediately life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n Police have detained three people<\/strong> in connection with the shooting, and recovered firearms from the scene.<\/p>\n The Kansas City Star identified a victim<\/strong> who died. Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a local DJ and mother of two, died in surgery after being shot, friends told the newspaper.<\/p>\n The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement,<\/strong> describing the incident as a \u201csenseless act of violence\u201d and said \u201cour hearts go out to the victims, their families and all of Kansas City\u201d. None of their players or staff were harmed.<\/p>\n The Missouri governor<\/strong>, Mike Parson<\/strong>, and his wife<\/strong> were at the Chiefs rally when the shooting occurred and were unharmed.<\/p>\n The Kansas City police chief,<\/strong> Stacey Graves,<\/strong> said she was aware of reports that some fans may have helped apprehend of at least one of the suspects, but did not confirm that that occurred. Investigators were reviewing video, she said.<\/p>\n Authorities said there is not yet a clear motive<\/strong> and said that much remains unknown. They have asked anyone with information or video of what occurred to contact police.<\/p>\n Graves used a press conference to praise the bravery of law-enforcement officers<\/strong> and denounce the violence. \u201cThis is not Kansas City.
