Not so long ago \u2013 it\u2019s been less than a decade \u2013 the New York Times<\/a> and the Washington Post<\/a> were almost neck and neck in the race for readers, reputation and scoops. The Times was always bigger, but the two were somewhat comparable.<\/p>\n These days, that\u2019s far from reality.
