But back in 2017, when the \u201cUnited 2026 bid\u201d advanced by the US, Mexico, and Canada was promising that \u201cUNITED AS ONE\u201d it would \u201cbring the game to all,\u201d it was hard to imagine the intensity of the capitalist hellscape<\/a> and political mayhem to come. Nine years later, Donald Trump has threatened the US\u2019s co-hosts: he has discussed making Canada the 51st state and sending US soldiers to Mexico to attack drug cartels. Meanwhile, Fifa\u2019s avarice has been on full display in prices for tickets, parking, and demands upon cities. And it\u2019s giving aspiring grifters a license to fleece.<\/p>\n The \u201cUnited 2026 bid\u201d feels like a document yanked from an archaeological dig. Its introduction states<\/a> that \u201cCanada, Mexico, and the United States have joined together to deliver a United Bid that offers Fifa the power of unity, the promise of certainty, and the potential of extraordinary opportunity\u201d.
