US district judge P Casey Pitts of the northern district of California on Tuesday vacated ICE\u2019s \u2060policies that had rescinded previous strictures on arrests at immigration courthouses and allowed detainees to \u200bbe held in short-term cells for up \u200cto 72 hours. He \u200cdid the same for a similar policy undertaken by the US Department of Justice\u2019s \u200cexecutive office for immigration review that removed limits on courthouse arrests.<\/p>\n
