A US judge on Tuesday granted the justice department\u2019s bid to dismiss cases against \u200cmembers of the rightwing Oath Keepers militia who took part in the January 6 2021 attack \u200bon the US Capitol, according to a \u200bcourt filing.<\/p>\n
The ruling from Washington-based US district judge Amit Mehta tosses out convictions \u200bof Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes and other \u200bmembers of the group who were convicted of seditious conspiracy for plotting to stop the transfer of \u200bpower after Donald Trump lost the \u200b2020 election.<\/p>\n
