Vice President JD Vance<\/a> called out Democrats Friday, saying the midterms will be a referendum on “common sense versus pure unadulterated crazy.”<\/p>\n

While stumping in Iowa, Vance said Democrats<\/a> are no longer “the party my grandparents grew up talking about.”<\/p>\n

Raised by a union steelworker, Vance said his father told him that “FDR\u2019s Democrat party, that JFK\u2019s Democrat party was the party of the workingman.<\/p>\n

“This is not FDR\u2019s party, as much as we might wish it was. It’s not JFK\u2019s party. Ladies and gentlemen, it\u2019s not even Bill Clinton\u2019s party.”<\/p>\n

Vance said today\u2019s Democrats don\u2019t believe the country needs to be “built upon” but “utterly transformed.”<\/p>\n

“In New York,” he said, some of the midterm candidates are calling<\/a> for the “total eradication of Western civilization. Somebody running for Congress in New York \u2014 and I promise I\u2019m not joking about this \u2014 said that July Fourth is actually about the liberation of Palestine and Puerto Rico.”<\/p>\n

To loud boos, Vance said, “You could almost laugh about” the idea of Thomas Jefferson writing the Declaration of Independence and thinking about the liberation of Palestine and Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n

“But, unfortunately, it\u2019s not funny because those people are dead serious, and this election is a referendum on common sense versus pure unadulterated crazy. Let\u2019s send the crazy packing and get them out of Washington, D.C.” Vance said to cheers.<\/p>\n

Vance also claimed some Democratic candidates are “out-and-out lunatics” who have “lost their ever-loving minds.”<\/p>\n

“These are the ones who will tell you that our history is evil, and this country needs to be bulldozed and started over from the beginning,” he continued.<\/p>\n

But he said other Democrat candidates are “smart enough to realize that the country hasn’t lost its mind, and, so, they try to be just a little bit more subtle.”<\/p>\n

Calling out Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Adam Hamilton of Kansas, Vance claimed Hamilton gave off a “kind of \u2018gee whiz, I\u2019m a nice pastor\u2019 vibe,” but he’s a man that tells his congregation not about the gospel of Jesus Christ, but that they need to repent for their White privilege.”<\/p>\n

Recent polls have shown a tightening race between Hamilton and GOP incumbent Kansas Sen. Roger Marshall.<\/p>\n

During the rally, Vance threw his support behind Iowa Republicans, including gubernatorial nominee Zach Lane, Rep. Ashley Hinson and congressional candidate Chris McGowan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
